APPEAL FOR DONATIONS TO HELP MAKE A TERRACE IN FRONT OF THE BUDDHA STATUE

The statue of the Buddha that was offered to Dhammaramsi centre by Sayadaw U Paññathami, was installed and offically consecrated last summer in the presence of many guests. At the time, the work that was necessary to make this place a space for meditation was not possible as priority was given to the restoration of the house. However, what was not possible last year, is possible this year.

We would like to honour the gift that that was given to us by arranging a space for meditation and devotion to the Buddha in the middle of the garden. On both sides of the statue we envisage a semicircular hedge of sloes and hawthorns to mark out the area of the sanctuary. Opposite the Buddha will be a terrace made of interlocking paving stones, approximately 30m². At the front, there will be a « red carpet » marking the space reserved for the monks and at the back there will be three walking tracks made from grey stone. The whole will form a rectangle which will be joined to a small bed of water lillies and reeds. For more intimacy, a hedge of beeches will close off the area at the back.
